Sunday, September 13, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: The highly anticipated annual Carnival Road March, the close of Carnival season, took place today in Belize City.
The always colorful event moved off as scheduled from its traditional point of departure at Caesar Ridge Road at 1pm, turning right into Central American Boulevard and proceeding over the Belcan Bridge into Princess Margaret Drive and Newtown Barracks, ending at the BTL Park.
Six junior bands and eight senior bands participated.
The bands were judged in front of the leaf monument/roundabout on the intersection of Cemetery Road and Central American Boulevard and in front of Leo Bradley Library on Princess Margaret Drive.
In addition to the usual side attractions such as floats and tumblers there was a visiting group from Mexico.
Final judging is presently taking place at BTL Park where the post-march party is located.
We will have results as soon as they become available.
