Friday, September 19, 2014. GWEN NUNEZ GONZALEZ Reporting: Primary School Students in the Belmopan Area rocked the University of Belize Gym during their annual September Celebrations Rally.
Over 800 students entertained themselves, sang with pride, and danced with all the joy they had as proud Belizeans.
Mr. Ico, teacher at St. Michael, R.C., kept them going as the Director of Ceremonies.
“The Noralez Duo” Elijah and Alisha” wowed” fellow students with their power house voices as part of the day’s entertainment.
Another highlight of today’s rally (Sept 19th) was the appearance of Belize’s No. 1 Goal Keeper Woodrow West.
His introduction by Mrs. Galvez, teacher at Our Lady of Guadalupe, R.C., brought the students to their feet with great enthusiasm as they welcomed Mr. West to the podium.
He encouraged them to stay in school, listen to their parents and teachers, and keep reaching for their dreams.
He gave them his life’s story on his way to becoming an excellent player, which focused on discipline, determination, sacrifice, and obedience.
He concluded by encouraging them to use their industrious hands, intelligent minds to join in building Belize.
At the end of his presentation innocent, vibrant, jovial voices sang him the best Happy Birthday tune he has ever heard.
It was awesome.
The rally was organized by the dynamic team at the Cayo District Education Centre Belmopan Office along with teachers and principals.
Congratulations are in order to the teachers who prepared the students who demonstrate their talents.
“Industrious Hands, Intelligent Minds, Together for Belize”. Happy Independence Day Celebrations Belize.
