Wednesday, September 23, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Funeral service for Orange Walk resident 67 year old Santos Belarmino Uh is being held this afternoon at the La Inmaculada R.C. Church.

Uh was crushed to death on Sunday evening on Dunn Street as the Carnival parade neared completion.

According to Orange Walk police, Santos Uh was approaching a truck when he fell and the rear wheels ran over him, killing him instantly.

The driver of the truck, a resident of Concepcion village, also in Orange Walk has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution; but police have indicated that any formal charges will only be brought against him based on advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The family of Santos Uh has indicated, however, that they consider the incident as an accident and do not wish to press charges against the truck driver.
