Friday, October 3, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Warm conditions are dominating factors in our weather heading into the weekend.
The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for mostly sunny skies today.
Tonight will be partly cloudy. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated.
Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly to south-easterly at 10 to 20 knots.
The sea state will be moderate. High temperatures today will be around 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 95 degrees Fahrenheit inland ad 81 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.
Low temperatures tonight will be around 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 72 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 68 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.
The tides: there will be a high tide at 6:15 pm. A low tide follows at 11:40 pm.
The sun will set at 5:30 pm. It will rise again at 5:44 am on Saturday.
The extended forecast, valid through to Sunday is for a few showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly over central areas of the country.
