Thursday, October 16, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Vehicular traffic was interrupted on the Iguana Creek Bridge and the Baking Pot Ferry this morning following heavy rains in western Belize overnight.
Early this morning, the Iguana Creek Bridge leading to Spanish Lookout was impassable as the water level had risen above the deck of the bridge.
In Central Farm, the Baking Pot Ferry was parked on the southern bank of the Belize River due to rising river level.
The ferry operator at the site noted that since morning, there has been a slight drop in the river level but the ferry remains closed.
