Monday, October 20, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: A new bathroom facility was inaugurated on Friday of last week at the Hills of Promise Seventh Day Adventist primary school in Benque Viejo del Carmen town.
The project was facilitated by the San Ignacio Rotary Club with funding provided through the Rotary Club of Reno, Nevada, USA.
The new bathroom facility replaced an old outdoor latrine that was in use for a number of years.
It includes urinals for boys and bathrooms for girls as well as the male and female staff.
On hand to cut the ribbon marking the official opening of the new bathroom facility were Chip Lindloff and Ken Petring from the Rotary Club of Reno, Nevada, San Ignacio Rotary Club acting president Bill Buthcher, other members of the San Ignacio Rotary Club, Education officer officials and students of the primary school.
The new bathroom facility at the Hills of Promise Seventh Day Adventist Primary School in Benque Viejo del Carmen is the eight such project successfully carried out by the San Ignacio Rotary Club.
Over 350 students and teachers stand to benefit from the new bathroom facility.
