Monday, October 20, 2014. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Four primary schools in Punta Gorda town were today issued with tablets to be used as a classroom tool for students.
The tablets were handed out to the St. Benedict R.C., St. Peter Claver, Punta Gorda Methodist and Punta Gorda Seventh Day Adventist Schools by Mayor Anthony Fuentes.
According to Mayor Fuentes, the tablets, donated by Data Wind Company of the United States, are intended to give access to cutting edge educational technology to middle school students in Punta Gorda town.
Each of the four primary schools received 9 tablets as part of the initial roll out of the new education initiative by the Punta Gorda town council.
Mayor Fuentes says he is grateful for the partnership with Data Wind Company to use technology to afford a better quality education to primary school children in his municipality.
The effectiveness and use of the tablets will be closely monitored and the results relayed to the company that donated them, with the hope of expanding the project to include other schools and putting more of the electronic gadgets in the hands of students.
