Monday, October 20, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Relatively moist and unstable conditions are currently dominating factors in our weather at this time.

The general forecast is for cloudy skies at times with a few showers and thunderstorms mainly inland and in northern parts of the country this afternoon but spreading to most areas tonight and on Tuesday morning.

Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly to south easterly at 5 to 15 knots, with higher gusts near showers and thunderstorms.

The sea state will be choppy, becoming locally rough at times.  Operators of small craft should exercise caution in rough seas.

High temperatures this afternoon will reach 87 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 91 degrees Fahrenheit inland and a comfortable 78 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains is the south.

Low temperatures tonight will range from 76 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; to 72 degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.

The tides: there is a low tide at 2:02 pm; followed by a high tide at 7:54 pm.  The sunset is at 5:27 pm and the sunrise on Tuesday is at 5:48 am.

The extended forecast, valid through to Wednesday afternoon is for mostly cloudy skies with some showers and thunderstorms over most areas, especially during afternoon hours.
