Burglary at Belize Cancer Society

Tuesday, November 4, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: The Belize Cancer Society, with offices on Mercy Lane in Belize City, was targeted by burglars this past weekend.

The break-in was discovered on Monday morning around 7:34 am when the director of the Belize Cancer Society arrived at her workplace and found that the office had been burglarized.

Police say that the burglar or burglars stole $120 and assorted food and snack items, all to a total value of $200.

According to reports received, the thief or thieves actually dismantled light fixtures that the Cancer Society had installed on the building and cut the burglar bars on one of the windows, from where entry to the building was apparently gained.

Police investigations continue.
