Traffic accident in Orange Walk leaves one man dead

Monday, November 10, 2014. ORANGE WALK BUREAU Reporting: A man from Trinidad village, Orange Walk is dead following a road traffic accident on Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as 24 year old Alonzo Vasquez.

Reports are that Vasquez was driving a single cab Mazda pickup truck from August Pine Ridge to Trinidad village when it overturned on the approach to a bridge near Trinidad.

According to reports, Vasquez was flung from the vehicle and suffered head and body injuries.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Northern Regional Hospital.

When police and family members arrived at the scene around 9:50 pm on Saturday, they found the pickup truck on the right hand side of the road.

It was extensively damaged.
