Rehabilitated feeder road in Corozal

Friday, November 14, 2014. DEVON YOUNG Reporting: A European Union-funded road rehabilitation project was officially inaugurated on Thursday in the Corozal district.
Five point five miles of feeder roads were repaired and upgraded to paved standards at an estimated price tag of $4.5 million.
The upgraded feeder roads lead from Patchakan to Vaibe, from Calcutta to Xaibe and San Roque to Xaibe.
Chairman of the Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association, Corozal branch Ramon Aban says that the upgraded road will bring a lot of benefits to the sugar industry and the agriculture sector on a whole.
On hand for Thursday’s inauguration were Minister of Public Works Rene Montero, the Junior Minister for Agriculture and Natural Resources Hugo Patt and the EU ambassador to Belize Paola Amadei.
