Tuesday, December 2, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Caribbean Community leaders, including Prime Minister Dean Barrow will gather in Havana, Cuba on Monday of next week for the fifth Cuba-CARICOM summit.

During the summit, regional leaders will look to deepen Cuba’s economic and trade relations with the countries of CARIFORUM and furthering cooperation several areas including education and culture.

Observers are upbeat about a positive outcome of next week’s summit, given ever closer relationship between Cuba and regional partners.

Prior to attending the CARICOM-Cuba summit on Monday, Prime Minister Dean Barrow will spend this week on Personal leave in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

The Prime Minister is expected back in Belize on Tuesday, December 9.

During his absence from the country, the Honorable the Deputy Prime Minsiter is acting as Prime Minister.
