Friday, December 5, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: On Thursday First Caribbean International Bank made a donation of $8,000 to the Belize Cancer Society, proceeds of its various activities highlighting cancer awareness.
The society’s vice-president Diane Finnegan said it comes in handy to provide services to persons afflicted with various forms of cancer, many of whom cannot speak for themselves and so show their gratitude.
The Society is non-profit and depends on donations like these to survive.
Next week, a party for persons with cancer will be held at the Society’s office in Belize City.
The Society only recently recovered from a burglary that forced them to obtain security equipment.
