Friday, December 5, 2014. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Two Guatemalan mean have been charged for the crime of possession of firearm and ammunition without a license.
They are 34 year old Erasmo Vasquez Emilio.
The duo was intercepted by Belizean authorities last week during a patrol near Machakilha village.
Police say when the men were intercepted they had in their possession a 12-gauge shotgun and a 25-caliber shotgun along with matching cartridges.
Chub and Ramirez were arraigned this week before Magistrate Banner in Punta Gorda town.
The men pled guilty to the charges of keeping firearms and ammunition without a license.
Ramirez was sentenced to 4 years in prison, while Chub was sentenced to 3 in prison.
Both men have been transferred to the Belize Central Prison at Hattieville to serve their sentences.
