Wednesday, December 10, 2014. AARON HUMES Reporting: Belize Telemedia is today offering a special promotion of phone devices and Belizeans are lining up to take advantage of what is being offered.

At the BTL headquarters on St. Thomas Street in Belize City, there were long lines of customers who have turned out to take part in the special promotion.

Similar promotion is taking place at other BTL offices around the country.

It is to be noted that as Belizeans are lining up to take advantage of the special promotion by BTL, thousands of miles away in Port of Spain Trinidad and Tobago, the legality of the nationalization of Belize Telemedia – and the Belize Electricity Limited – is taking center stage at the Caribbean Court of Justice.

A panel of 5 judges will hear arguments from lawyers on both sides of the case over the course of a three day period, then determine whether or not the nationalization of both utility companies was done legally or not.

We’ll keep monitoring this story and report on the ruling of the CCJ, expected on Friday.
