Saturday, December 20, 2014. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Over 100 youth cadets were given a Christmas treat today at the Bella Vista village police station.
The event was coordinated by Alejandro Sho and was made possible with inputs from the local business community as part of their investment in the well being of the children of the village.
The youth cadet program in Bella Vista village helps to instill discipline in the children and helps them to be engaged in positive activities to their own personal benefit as well as the development of their community.
For his part, Sho admits that 2014 was a challenging year for the youth cadet program in his community, particularly in terms of financial support to allow the children to benefit from the initiative.
He credits the active participation and involvement of the parents and teachers of the village in making the youth cadet program a success despite the many challenges.
Sho says that come 2015, the youth cadet program hopes to recruit more members while at the same time improving on some of the initiatives that were undertaken this year.
Today’s Christmas party had the participation of children from eight surrounding communities, all of whom got to eat, dance, play games and the highlight was the bursting of the pinata.
