Burglary reported in Orange Walk town

Sunday, December 28, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Not even burglar bars could keep thieves out of a business establishment in Orange Walk over the Christmas holidays.

The proprietor of Le Chen restaurant reported to police that sometime between 11:30 pm on Christmas Day and 8:30 am on Boxing Day, someone broke into the building by prying open the burglar bar on the back door.

The thief or thieves helped themselves to two television sets with a combined value of $2.599 and $4,000 from a safe in the kitchen.

Police say the thief or thieves also emptied the music box in the restaurant of $200 in coins.

Police investigations continue.
