Monday, December 29, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: Generally fair conditions are prevailing over our area this final week of the year.
The general forecast for Belize and her coastal waters is for sunny skies this afternoon and in the morning on Tuesday.
Tonight will be partly cloudy with isolated showers expected.
Winds over the open sea and along the coast will be easterly at five to fifteen knots. The sea state will be choppy.
High temperatures this afternoon will range from 84 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast to 87 degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a comfortable 75 degrees Fahrenheit up in the hills.
Low temperatures tonight will range from 72 degrees Fahrenheit along coastal areas to 68 degrees Fahrenheit inland. It will be a chilly 63 degrees Fahrenheit up at the exposed areas of the Mountain Pine Ridge and along the Maya Mountains in the south.
The tides: there will be high tide at 4:14 pm. This will be followed by a low tide at 11:20 pm tonight.
The sun will set at 5:28 pm. It will rise again at 6:22 am on Tuesday.
The extended forecast valid through to New Year’s Eve is for skies to become cloudy at times with a few coastal showers expected.
