CONCACAF World Cup Draw

Friday, January 16, 2015. BMG: Belize will play the Cayman Islands national football team in the first leg of the qualifying games for the 2018 World Cup.
27 of member associations of CONCACAF took part in the World Cup draw for Rounds 1 and 2 today in Miami, Florida which resulted in the pairing of Belize and the Cayman Islands today.
According to news reports out of the Cayman Islands, their national team will travel to Belize for the first match, with the winner going on to play the Dominican Republic.
The Technical Director of the Cayman Islands Football Association Renard Moxam is quoted by local media as saying that Belize and the Cayman Islands share a rich football history.
The 33-month long competition will not see dominant teams such as Mexico, Costa Rica, the United States, Panama and Trinidad and Tobago enter until Round 4.
Other matches in Round 1 include Bahamas vs Bermuda; British Virgin Islands vs Dominica; Barbados vs US Virgin Islands; Turks and Caicos vs St Kitts and Nevis; Nicaragua vs Anguilla and Curacao vs Montserrat.
