Tuesday, February 3, 2015. BMG: The People’s United Party (PUP) has suspended Orange Walk East area representative Dr. Marco Tulio Mendez from all “party related duties, responsibilities and activities.”

This follows formal charges of aggravated assault of an indecent nature being brought against the retiring politician today in the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court.

Dr. Mendez was arraigned on six counts, four of the offence allegedly committed against one of the underage girls and two counts allegedly committed against the other.

No plea was taken as the matter is an indictable one and bail was offered to Dr. Mendez in the sum of $5,000 which he was able to meet.

He is to return to the Orange Walk Magistrate’s Court on April 13, 2015.

Since the good doctor is not performing any of his duties shouldn’t he be asked to resign from the House of Representatives and a bi-election be held. This can also be done with Elvin Penner.
