Thursday, February 12, 2015. GWEN NUNEZ GONZALEZ Reporting: Parents, Teachers, Students, School Leaders, Volunteers and donors gathered at Kuxlin Ha Government School on Monday, February 9th, to inaugurate its well deserved and needed Library.
The building was constructed by parents with donation from community members, parents, and volunteers.
Mr. David LeBlanc, chairman of the Volunteer Effort from Church of Incarnation in Dallas Texas, said that the planning began 2 years ago.
The team has been visiting Belize and building libraries over the years and Kuxlin Ha Government school received the 20th Library the team has built in the country.
They also donated 5,000 books in different categories.
The students are also blessed with 3 Geo Domes assembled by the team.
Mr. Marvin Kellyman, General Manager of Government Schools, expressed his gratitude for the donation and partnership.
He encouraged the students to keep reading as part of their daily routine and to take care of the gift.
Entertainment was done by the students.
Rev. Dick Cadidian blessed the building thereafter Mr. Kellyman and Mr. LeBlanc cut the ribbon to officially open the doors of the new library.
The enthusiastic learners will now have a place to travel the world through books.
Mrs. Sarita Westby and her dedicated staff must be commended for the work they did in painting and coordinating the effort.
