Punta Gorda man detained pending rape charge

Thursday, February 12, 2015. BMG: Police have detained a man from Punta Gorda town pending a charge of rape.

This follows a report that he raped a fourteen year old girl on Thursday night.

Police say the girl told them that she was at a computer lab on Main Street in Punta Gorda town, when the man raped her.  A medical examination has since confirmed that the girl was carnally known.

The doctor also classified her injuries as wounding.
