Teenage girl shot in the chest in San Pedro town

Thursday, February 12, 2015. BMG: A thirteen year old girl was the victim of a shooting incident on Wednesday night in the San Pedrito area of San Pedro town.

According to police reports  the shooting happened around 9:25 last night and the teenager was shot in the chest.

The mother of the teenager, Maria Escalante told police that she was in the process of closing the door to her apartment when shots were fired, injuring her daughter.

Police say two men of dark complexion were seen fleeing the area on bicycles.

The injured teenager was taken to the San Pedro Polyclinic for medical treatment.

Police say she is listed in a stable condition and their investigation of the shooting continues.
