Hattieville man dies weeks after being shot

Saturday, February 14, 2015. BMG: Three weeks after he was wounded in a shooting incident in Hattiville village, 28 year old Eugene Pitts has died.

Someone opened fire at a party on the night of January 25 in Hattieville village, injuring him to the midsection and damaging his internal organs.

Pitts had been hospitalized at the Karl Heusner Memorial in Belize City until he died of a heart attack on Thursday night.

Police have still not made an arrest for the shooting and the case has now been upgraded to a murder investigation.

Prior to his demise, Pitts was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Belize.
