Monday, February 16, 2015. BMG: In August of last year, the Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization launched a “Touching Lives” School Talent International Contest.
It called for the participation of school students from all across the Caribbean Region.
And from a pool of submissions, a Belizean was fortunate enough to win an award.
Her name is Dianely Carrillo from the Compassion School in Yo Creek, Orange Walk Town.
Today, interim representative for PAHO Dr. Kathleen Israel visited the school where Dianely was recognized for her written component, in the form of a poem.
Carillo received her recognition certificate and the School received a plaque.
According to Principal, Manuel Rejon, the school has won many awards in Belize and this is the first that is internationally recognized.
