Stevedore remanded on sex allegations

Thursday, February 19, 2015. AARON HUMES Reporting: 46 year old stevedore Santos Olivia was remanded to prison after pleading not guilty to charges of sexual assault and grievous harm on a female minor.

Olivia is accused of inappropriately touching the minor in her private area and causing grievous harm to her person on November 17, 2014.

The prosecutor successfully objected to bail before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer due to the age of the complainant and the close proximity of her residence to his which may incite interference.

Olivia also owed the court $360 which he must pay off before seeking bail.

The Senior Magistrate ordered remand until the case is next called on April 22.
