Municipal Elections 2015

Wednesday, March 4, 2015. AARON HUMES Reporting: Final figures published by the Election and Boundaries Department show that 57% of the total registered voters cast a ballot in today’s Municipal Elections in Belize.
That is 60,533 out of 105, 634 registered voters.
A breakdown of the total amount of votes cast is as follows:
Belize City: 20,540 [48%]
Belmopan: 5,713 [63%]
Benque Viejo del Carmen: 3,037 [66%]
Corozal: 5,286 [67%]
Dangriga: 3,145 [56%]
Orange Walk: 8,029 [68%]
Punta Gorda: 2,242 [62%]
San Ignacio: 7,364 [58%]
San Pedro: 4,977 [66%]

Congratulations! I was not following, just heard of the victory via facebook, of course. With such a sweep, the opposition must not be in sync with the country. As a UDP family member, a strong, in my humble opinion, opposition is required to keep checks and balances in any country.
