Eastern Division Police make arrests in murder cases

Thursday, March 5, 2015. AARON HUMES Reporting: Police have made arrests in three separate open cases of murder and attempted murder in the Eastern Division.

There was the arrest of Ian Adolphus’ alleged killer, 18 year old Akeem Trapp, for murder. Adolphus was shot on Freedom Street by a gunman on bicycle a few weeks ago.

For the murder of Michael Welch and injury to Kingsley Morrison, who were were hanging out on Sunday night, March 1, when they were attacked, police have charged Tarique Gillett.

On February 11, 38 year old Maria Escalante and her 13 year old daughter were closing the door to their apartment in the San Pedrito area when shots were fired and the teenager was hit in the chest.

Police have charged Deshawn Goff with the attempted murder of the child.
