Wednesday, March 11, 2015. BMG: The case of the destruction of the Noh Mul archaeological site in set to commence this morning in the Corozal Magistrate’s Court.

Denny Grijlva and employees of DeMar’s Stone Company are accused of destroying the ancient monument back in 2013.

When court was convened this morning, the Prosecutor in the case indicated to the Court that the files were just handed over to him last night and asked the Magistrate for an adjournment based on that ground.

Grijalva’s defence attorney rose on an objection pointing out that the case has been pending for the last two years, and asked the Magistrate to either proceed with the starting of the case of strike out the matter.

The Magistrate gave the Prosecution a ten-minute recess to decide whether they are prepared to start the case or the matter will be struck out.
