Man pleads guilty for drug bust in front of Magistrate’s Court

Friday, March 13, 2015. AARON HUMES Reporting: A senior citizen was busted in Belize City in July of 2012 for drug and traffic offences, and today his case wrapped up with a plea of guilty to a charge of drug trafficking.

52 year old Fred Buckley must pay a fine of $10,000 by June 30 or he will serve three years in prison.

Buckley was riding his bicycle contrary to the flow of traffic on Treasury Lane in front of the Magistrate’s Court Building when police stopped him.

A search of his person resulted in the discovery of 122 grams of cannabis in the waist of his pants.
