Friday, March 13, 2015. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Various women’s groups from the Toledo district took part in a public forum in Punta Gorda town today.

The event was part of activities for Women’s Month and it showcased the various skills and talents of the participating groups.

Lorraine Johnson

Coordinator of today’s event Lorraine Johnson says that the theme: “women- chancing history, building futures, drivers of change” is fitting because “the many struggles and determination of women who came before have broken down barriers and now allows more women to enjoy rights and privileges that were once out of reach.”

Johnson says that because o the foundation laid by other women, “we can look to the future with hope as we continue to work to pave the way forward for our younger generation, so that they can live in a world where there are no limits to their dreams.”
