One World Running annual Fun Run to be held on Wednesday

Monday, March 16, 2015. JUAN CAAL Reporting: Preparations are well underway for this year’s One World Fun Run.

The annual event will be held on Wednesday morning starting at 6 o’clock from the Punta Gorda Central Park.

Over a thousand students from Primary School to the University of Belize are expected to take part in this annual event.

Today, the One World Running Director Ana Weir, oversaw the distribution to running tennis for the students who will take part in Wednesday’s event.

Weir says that the objective of the run is to promote healthy lifestyle and body fitness.

Lead organizer of Wednesday’s run is Francisco Cal from the Education Department.

He says that the event is all about encouraging youth to practice a healthy lifestyle and promote fitness through running.

It should serve as an awareness about the importance of fitness in a fun way, says Mr. Cal.

One World is a non-profit organization and members and organizers say they are excited about this year’s fun run.

Trophies and Medals will be handed out at the end of this year’s Fun Run.
