House Fire Over the Easter Holidays Leaves Family Homeless

Tuesday, April 7th 2015. BMG : 77 year old, Narciso Novelo from the Village of August Pine Ridge in Orange Walk District is lucky to be alive after family members woke him up in the wee hours of April 5th, 2015 to notify him that the thatched roof of his house was being engulfed in flames.

The blaze started at the south end of the thatched roof and his family members rushed to extinguish the fire but by then it was too late.

The damage is estimated at $8,100. Police are investigating.
