Murder in Seine Bight

Wednesday, April 8th 2015. BMG: On April 7th 2015 around 11:30am, Placencia Police discovered a body floating in a lagoon behind Seine Bight Village in Stann Creek District. Police retrieved the body and found out that it was of a male person who was shirtless and wearing a green short cargo pants. 7. STABBING

Police identified the person as 18 year old George Richard Maskall of a Belize City address who at the time was living in Seine Bight Village. Initial investigation revealed that Maskall was last seen in Seine Bight Village by relatives and friends on April 3rd 2015.

Because of the advanced state of decomposition, an onsite post-mortem examination was conducted certifying the cause of death to be due to “stab wounds to the heart (right atrium) and sharp force injuries to the chest, and the contributed cause to be blunt force trauma to the chest”. Police investigations continue.
