Bush fires break out in August Pine Ridge Village

Thursday, April 9th 2015. BMG: Chairman of the August Pine Ridge Village, Ismael Blanco has been receiving calls since Sunday about bush fires that are rampaging through acres upon acres of land in that rural area.

According to Blanco, bush fires are a natural phenomena during this time every year but this year, he believes that someone is deliberately setting the bush on fire.

Monday and Tuesday, the fires came in close proximity to residences and villager homes so the Chairman has asked villagers to remain vigilant.

Due to a short supply of water, villagers are hoping that authorities would be more available since they haven’t responded since Sunday when calls were made.

So far, bush fires have blanketed approximately 200 Acres of land in the Village.
