GOB and EU inaugurate newly rehabilitated San Victor – San Narciso Road

Wednesday, April 15^th, 2015. BMG: An inauguration ceremony for the San Narciso – San Victor Road was held this morning at Mother’s Park in the San Narciso Village of the Corozal District.

The project is a collaborative effort of the Government of Belize and the European Union geared at improving the infrastructural development of the Agriculture, Tourism and Social sectors of northern Belize. A release from the Government states, that “The San Narciso – San Victor is an important transport corridor in northern Belize and the rehabilitation will result in decreased transportation costs to farmers and improve accessibility for road users in time of inclement weather.

The rehabilitation consists of site clearance; culvert and drain construction; and surface dressing”, end quote.

The road rehabilitation project was funded under the Accompanying Measures for Sugar (AMS) 2010 Feeder Road Rehabilitation Project – Phase 3 and saw the paving of 9.53 kilometers or 5.96 Miles starting from the old Northern Highway at the BSI Junction. The total cost for the completed project is BZD $8.2 million dollars.
