Security guard charged with carnal knowledge

Thursday, April16th 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: A security guard of Belize City has been charged with having intercourse with a minor about half his age.

27 year old Nicoli James was charged with carnal knowledge of a female minor before Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith.

The complainant, aged 15 years and 8 months, said to police that she visited James’ house on Fabers Road on April 8 and voluntarily engaged in sex with James; however, the laws of Belize dictate that consent can only be given by a female aged 16 years and above.

James has been remanded to the Central Prison until July 23, when he returns to court.
