Monday, April 20th, 2015. BMG: Belize’s most recognized and loved footballer, Deon McCaulay, was brought back into the country last week by a group of committed fans who joined hands to pay for his flight and give him a stipend while in Belize.
The star striker was playing for the Atlanta Silverbacks in the United States, until he suffered an ankle injury that side-lined him for the past couple of months. Now, with the upcoming game the Belize Jaguars have against the Dominican Republic, the entire country saw it fit that Deon returned to join the team in their world cup pursuit.
And today, football fanatics countrywide should be elated that Deon McCaulay has accepted the terms of the FFB/National Team Committee and stepped foot on the field for his first team practice with the Jaguars this season.
The Committee recognizes that Deon, like all the other National Players, are valuable to the success of Belize’s National Team in the second leg of the 2018 FIFA World cup Qualifier Games. The Committee took the time to welcome him home.
