Man charged for break-in at ex’s home

Tuesday, April 21st 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: 24 year old Jhovan Mariano has been accused of burglary over a report of an incident at his former’s partner’s home in Ladyville. On April 18, according to Kimberly Kingston, Mariano’s ex-common-law wife, he went to her house, forced open the front door and barged in to attack her.

She was able to call the police and he left, taking her cell phone with him. Mariano was read his charges before Chief Magistrate Ann-Marie Smith, who upheld objections to bail by the court prosecutor on the ground of the prevalence of the offense and the possibility of the accused further interfering with the complainant if allowed out on bail. Mariano, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded into prison custody until July 22
