Sunday, April 26th, 2015. BMG: For the first time in Belize’s volleyball history, Belize has both a male and female team participating in the NORCECA tour in Grand Cayman.
NORCECA stands for the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation and is an incorporated, non-profit organization responsible for all volleyball activities that take place in the region.
According to the Belize Volleyball Association, all the big teams in the region like USA, Canada, Cuba and Puerto Rico are participating in this continental tour.
Belizean Jason Cabral and Gustavo Morataya are in Pool C along with Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and St. Lucia. The other two Belizeans participating are Kelsey Balderamos and Emma Hoare and both of them are in Pool B with Canada, Trinidad, Cayman, and Panama.
The women played today at 9:20 am against Trinidad and at 2:20pm against Canada, while the men played at 12:30pm against Costa Rica and 3:10 pm this afternoon against Puerto Rico.
What an exciting time for the teams and Belize volleyball as they make history. The beach volley ball tour started on April 24th 2015 and ends today.
