Oceana cleanup in PG

Wednesday, April 29^th, 2015. BMG: Over the weekend in Punta Gorda, OCEANA along with the PG Town Council, held a beach clean-up that saw the cleaning of over a mile of beach front. The cleanup crew consisted of representatives from OCEANA, Mayor Fern Gutierrez and more than 50 residents of PG who volunteered to help.

These efforts beautify the coast of PG and encourage residents to keep it clean. When we spoke to Mayor Gutierrez, she told us that she was pleasantly surprised to see so many volunteers reach out to support the initiative and that she hopes to get continued support from NGO’s and the residents of PG for the development of the town.

This cleanup resulted in the removal of over 30 thrash bags of garbage from the sea side.
