Wednesday, April 29th, 2015. BMG: Belize Tourism Board reports that during the first quarter of 2015 there was a significant growth in the number of cruise arrivals in Belize. The month of January had a major increase of 16.6% and during the month of March there was an increase of 15.8%.
According to the BTB, overnight arrivals have remained steady and one of the main factor that influenced this result was flight cancellations due to the weather conditions in both Canada and U.S.A.
During the month of March there was an increase of 1% which represents 424 tourists whilst the month of January had a small decrease of 1% which represents 306 tourists. The month of February on the other hand also decreased by 1.1% which represents 352 tourists.
However the BTB remains optimistic about overnight arrivals for the months ahead.
