Thursday May 14, 2015. Flora Pereira Reporting: 24 year old Dian Vasquez is a resident of Santa Elena Town in the Cayo District. Dian graduated with honors from Sacred Heart College and moved on to complete a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Management at Galen University where she graduated with honors.
Currently, Dian holds a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management, a Masters Degree in Resource and Environmental Management and is in the process of obtaining a Master of Science in Diplomatic Studies at The Australian National University.
In an online interview, she told us that she believes in the mantra “nothing in life is impossible to achieve once you really want it” and stated that “my desire for more and hunger for the world and passion for learning has brought me this far, and I’m nobody working on becoming somebody”.
She also added and we quote, “Being granted an Australia Award has definitely been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life! More so, studying at the Australian National University has provided me with quality education and higher learning. I got the opportunity to network with bright minds from across the globe, and worked closely with renowned professors and experts in the field of environmental policy, research, and diplomacy. This has definitely been an enriching experience equipping me with the right tools, attitude, and skills set to make a difference globally and help solve problems.Overall, studying in Australia has been life-changing! The ANU has properly trained me to be a steward of the world and laid the foundation for the rest of my career.For such an outcome I am truly grateful.”
Ms. Vasquez will complete her graduate studies by the end of the summer semester in June 2015.
