UPDATE: Mass suspension of Students at San Pedro High School

Wednesday, May 20th, 2015. BMG: Reports coming out of Ambergris Caye are that a mass suspension of several students has taken place at the San Pedro high School this morning.

The move according to reports is based on a decision taken by the board of directors over pornographic images of a female teacher that were circulated over social media.

The teacher has allegedly denied being the subject of the pictures circulate.

UPDATE at 12:45 pm: The Ministry of Education (MoE) is confirming that there was a Board Meeting on Tuesday, May19th where the matter of pornographic pictures was discussed.

According to the MoE, the board was advised that they cannot expel students and as such the board decided to suspend a total of nine students.

However, it is expected that the board will suspend more students. The MoE is advising students in San Pedro Town that if they have any information, material or evidence of any teacher suspected of wrong doings to visit the Ministry of Education and provide the necessary information so that a proper investigation be conducted against any teacher suspected of wrong doing.
