Kareem Grant, gun down in the Old Capital

Thursday, May 21st, 2015. BMG: Two persons are currently in police custody pending the outcome of an investigation of a shooting incident that took place sometime last night in the old capital Belize City.

Around 8:30 p.m. Belize City, Police visited the K.H.M.H. where they saw the lifeless body of 26-year-old Kareem Grant of St. Martin’s De Pores area, suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds.

Initial investigations revealed that around 8:25 p.m., several gunshots were heard inside a fenced yard at the corner of Mahogany and Periwinkle Streets.

Upon making checks in the area, Grant was seen with injuries.

He was immediately transported to the K.H.M.H. where he succumbed to his injuries at around 10:45 p.m while receiving treatment.

Police recovered 5, 9mm expended shells from the scene.
