Wednesday, May 27th, 2015. BMG: Three persons including a minor from Orange Walk Town were arrested and charged for burglary and handling stolen goods.
According to the report, whilst police were on mobile patrol around 2:20am on Tuesday morning, they spotted two individuals by the St. Peter’s School area, acting suspiciously.
After the men observed the police mobile, they absconded from the area and immediately police set chase. The men were found hiding in an old cement house in the area.
Police say they had in their possession a black bag which contained several pieces of jewelry and electronic devices. Police say upon further inspection of the items, they observed that the Tags on the items originated from Correa’s Pawn Shop on Queen Victoria Avenue.
Police visited the location and observed the burglar bar doors were wide open and subsequently got in contact with the owner where he made a report. The total value of the items stolen amounted to 14 thousand dollars, Belize currency.
Police arrested and charged Eric Perriot and a 16 year old minor who were jointly charged for Burglary. 19 year old Alini Mendoza from a Dunn Street address was arrested and charged for handling stolen goods.
Police say most of the items were recovered except for three gold rings.
