Tuesday, June 2nd, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: Belizean champions Verdes FC will play San Francisco of Panama and Queretaro of Mexico in Group C in the preliminary stage of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League later this year.
The draw held in Miami, Florida, pitted 24 teams against each other in eight groups of three, with the group winners advancing to the 8-team quarterfinal.
Queretaro finished ninth on aggregate in the Mexican League and won one of the four spots available to Mexico in the tournament, while San Francisco won one of Panama’s two berths.
The tournament begins in August and the final will be played over two legs in April.
