Accused thief and burglar in court

Thursday, June 4^th, 2015. Aaron Humes Reporting: 45 year old Philip Neal of Periwinkle Street is accused four times over of theft and attempted burglary in separate incidents.

Neal was charged for two counts of theft this morning in relation to thefts from Chinese businessman Yuan Sheng, who lost a sack of rice, a rice cooker, an ice cooler and a live chicken; and from Bjana Bradley, who lost her two car batteries, both on May 17.

Neal denied the charges and pleaded not guilty, saying that someone went to his house, took him to an area behind Fultec Systems on Coney Drive and told him that he would “own up” to the stolen property.

He was set bail of $3,000, but before he could meet it he returned to Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer’s court, charged this time with two counts of attempted burglary. Between June 1 and 2 he is accused of attempting to break into a building in the Ibis Compound on Coney Drive, and damaging a metal door belonging to Carlton Young.

Also on June 1, Neal is accused of trying to get into the Transparent BPO building, also on Coney Drive, and breaking a glass window belonging to Kevin Perrera.

This time Senior Magistrate Frazer denied bail. He is due back in court on all charges on August 3.
