Get ready for “Green and Clean” Placencia Lobsterfest 2015!

Wednesday, June 10th, 2015. BMG:  The 17th Annual Placencia Village Lobsterfest is scheduled for June 19-21, 2015 and organizers the Placencia Village Council and Placencia Tourism Center have planned a series of exciting activities at one of the country’s most recognizable festivals. Lobster Fest Event Schedule

Visitors to the popular seaside tourism destination are being encouraged to “Keep it Green & Clean” – this year’s theme for the fest. For example, stadium cups will be used that can be re-used and are great keepsakes; there will be 5 gallon water stations with biodegradable cups and food vendors using the same green disposables at a discount. It is asked that no one take Styrofoam containers on site.

The real draw, as always, is all the amazing lobster dishes that will be for sale: lobster pie, pizza, grilled whole lobster plus much more!

But there are many other exciting events at this award winning festival, which include the Old Master Rum Punch Competition, Placencia BTIA raffle and the Placencia Rotary Duck race, not to mention the Lionfish Competition on June 19 with $2,800 available in prizes and the annual Lobster-fest Fishing Tournament on June 20 with a $3,000 prize for top boat.

The list of entertainers include Ozzy the Clown, Benque Viejo Marching Band, Emmeth Young and the Talla Walla Vibration Band and Harlem Youths in the daytime. Top acts participating in the nightly dances are New Sensation Band on Friday night; Gilharry 7 on Saturday night and Placencia’s own Persuaders close the show on Sunday night at “The Father’s Day Dance”.

The 2015 Placencia Lobster-fest is a family affair and its organizers invite you to visit the beautiful coastal village and enjoy the festivities and great food on June 19th, 20th and 21st, 2015.
