Monday, June 15th, 2015. BMG: After an excellent performance yesterday, June 14, ultimately winning the game 3-0, the Belize Jaguars are looking stronger than ever with Deon McCaulay once again playing in a Belizean jersey.
McCaulay scored 2 of Belize’s goals in game 1 against Dominica and again scored a beautiful header yesterday to help secure a 3-0 victory. Hopes are high for the upcoming 3rd round of the 2018 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers as the team has grown even more confident and is performing better than ever, but will the Jaguars have the funding they need to travel for away games?
The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) has announced that it does not have the funds to send the team on anymore away games as the trip to the Dominican Republic cost over a hundred thousand dollars.
Our Jaguars will need the government and the public’s financial support to travel for their next away game.
Marlon Kuylen, an executive member of the FFB, in an interview with the media last week, said: “This trip alone cost us over a hundred thousand dollars and hopefully, if the stadium gets full on Sunday that will help for us to recover. But going forward, we will have to go to the Belizean public and hopefully G.O.B. can help us too.”
